The Face of the Great Green Devil

MindOverFour Hard to classify e.p. of Advanced D&D metal. I think of it as a mashup of Spirit Caravan and Wrathchild America. Each song is quite a bit different: it starts off like Manilla Road and ends up in Anthrax territory. So if you like progressive metal that balances math-rock, nwothm, thrash, and fuzz, I highly recommend it. Favorite track: The Siege of Fleeth.

whiskeyfinder This is sort of like a Stockholm death metal band doing their best to imitate Omen and Cirith Ungol. The guitar tone is supremely big and dirty. The drums are propulsive and really drive the songs with forward momentum. The vocals lend a sense of drama without becoming overbearing. The voices have just right amount of layers and harmonies to give depth and scope without clashing with what is basically straight ahead classic heavy metal songwriting. I’d recommend this to fans of Visigoth, early Jag Panzer, and even Unleashed. Favorite track: Face of the Great Green Devil.

I, Acererak 05:42
Brother The Circle and the Candle Brother You’ve called more than you can handle. Mother His failure cost you dearly Mother Death would be a mercy clearly You’ve summoned your doom Now I conjure my tomb. I will kill to die. By the Hand and Eye I’ll conquer death and rise…. Father Fiend of the lower planes Father Balor of ABYSS domains Master This wretched life you’ve saved Master Now I long for the grave
2.
Thirsty torment, hungry revenge Another mother, taken by small-minded men Oath to defend, gods to offend Another master, serving my aims in the end The hungry devour the starving. Curse the light Curse the blind Burned to the bone, now it is known Curse the light Legions of the dead, soldiers of dread Topple the walls, feast on the fear 'til they're fed Sorcerer arcane, conjurer of pain Enslave the will, resistance is only in vain Curse on the light that burned through the veil Curse on the light that made a god fail Curse on the sight of my eyes Curse on the light that made the siege fail
3.
Come with me my brethren, follow me below Promises of power and secrets to show Subterranean Sanctuary, hidden from the day We’ll build it together and together we’ll stay Follow me Kneel with me my brethren, join with me in faith This temple of devotion and phantoms and wraiths Subterranean subterfuge, gripped in bony claw Labyrinth enshrined to a quite useful god Take my hand come to the dark dawn Join with me in dust communion Cast off your mortal prison Into skeletal oblivion Stay with me my brethren, deep in the catacombs Eternally I’m grateful for this crypt, for this home Subterranean sepulcher, I fear that it’s true My guest forever, the buried secrets are you

Welcome I’ve been waiting so very long I’m quite excited for you try and live through the night By my design, you will be mine Such care has been taken in every detail I’m delighted to see you fight it and watch you fail Well done! Congratulations! It won’t mean a thing A hint to ponder, riddle of colors, you’re mine in the end Who dares disturb my rest? You have found death Do you think you can play my game? Do you think you can solve my riddle? Do you think you’ll live through the night in my Tomb of Horrors? Silver mist False sarcophagus Gargoyle’s fist Silver throne Crypt unknown Golem stone Chapel of Evil, bone points the way Azure altar, dare not falter, beware of my trap
6.
Step into the mouth of darkness Without the key you’ll join the blackness Eternal annihilation A trick of my own creation You’ve come to stop my final victory I’ll drain your soul and leave you empty Your doom gives me such enjoyment Laughing as you die in torment Heed my warning Darkness dawning Come to me and you will DIE IN THE DUNGEON Reach across the yawning cosmos Harness strength of the undead hosts The souls of fallen gods are power Endless are the planes devoured You must think you’re very clever Admit defeat? NEVER My dusty shell it may be broken My final words have not been spoken Brother Summoning Mother Suffering Father You’ve cursed me Master You’ve failed me In the city that waits eldritch engines burn In the city that waits I await my return

about

The first album from Monster Skull. Beware.

This is the story of a villain in 6 parts. From birth to death and from death to immortal infamy. Few have entered the Tomb of Horrors and lived, even fewer know the tale of its undead master. Listen now to these songs of shattered innocence, bitter betrayal, unholy obsession and choices that can never be undone. But be warned, we cannot guarantee you will survive the experience unchanged.
